In Round 1, I went 7 and 1. In Round 2, I did much worse. Actually, just the Eastern Conference was terrible. I managed to pick the two Western Conference teams correctly, but the Flyers (who suck) and the Caps both decided to hit the beach early. Terrible.
My record now is 9 and 3. I have guaranteed myself a winning record. Woo-hoo! Now, let's see if I can't pick it up for the next round:
EAST:
Boston v Tampa Bay -- I'm cheating on this one because I'm pretty sure I would have picked the Brns on Friday, but blogger was down and I was unable to write this post. But the Bolts are playing really well, they got Rolo playing very well, and they actually a power play, which Boston does not. Even as they were sweeping the Flyers, the Brns couldn't get their power play going. You can only get so far with a deficiency that glaring. You get as far as the Conference Finals. Bolts 6
WEST:
Vancouver v Sharks -- There's no way I'd pick a Joe Thorton led team this deep in the playoffs, so the outage last Friday had no impact on my picks. Plus Vancouver has Luongo while the Sharks have Niemi. And Vancouver has Kesler, who is suddenly a Conn Smyth candidate despite the fact he had like one point in the first round series. He is playing well now, though. He even got a goal last night. He should get enough help from the Sedins and they'll be in the Finals. Canucks 5
