2011 Stanley Cup Finals

Last round, I went 1 and 1 to bring my record to 10 and 4. I lost on the Bolts when Rolly ran out of magic. Now Boston and their four power play goals in the entire playoffs are in the finals, taking on a banged up Canuck team.

Start with injuries: The Brns are okay on the defensive side, but Norton and Bergeron have been banged up. Bergeron missed a couple games, letting Seguin into the lineup. He got six points in two games, then never scored again. The Canucks defense got slammed around in the last two rounds, but apparently they were only the third line guys, and they're nine deep. Plus they get their third line center back. Bit of an edge to the Canucks.

Special Teams go to the Canucks, obviously. The Brns have the fewest power play goals for a team in the finals in forty years. They'd be better off refusing the power play.

Goalies are a toss up. Both can win a series for their team, though I can't recollect when Luongo has actually done so. Both can certainly win a game, as the Flyers know from first hand experience. Guess it comes down to whichever team can keep the front of the crease clear.

Moving to forwards, Mark Recchi is ninety years old and plays on the Brns second line. The Canucks second line center may win the Conn Smythe trophy if they win the Cup. Gotta go with the Canucks here.

And in the series as well. Canucks in 6
